NorthAble Disability Services

NorthAble is a not-for-profit community organisation and Northland’s largest disability information centre, established in 1990.
With an office in Whangarei, a mobile service, and NorthAble Link Centres in Dargaville, Maungaturoto, Kaitaia and Pukenui; NorthAble provides disability support and information in the Whangarei District and all Te Tai Tokerau.
Services include:

Equipment Plus has a wide range of Rehab, Age Care and Disability products, equipment and aids for daily living available for purchase or hire. Come in and try our equipment with no obligation to buy.  We are happy to offer advice – the most important thing is that you get the right product to meet your need.
We also have a mobile service circulating Northland, Agency Outlets in Dargaville and Kaitaia and online shopping via our website.
We can source and order products from our wide range of catalogues.  Our hire equipment is available short or long term.
Our Mobile Van Service visits rural Northland; call to find out when we are in your area. FREE Equipment demos available to community groups and organisations, or in-home where some fees may apply.

NorthAble DIAS
provides friendly, independent disability information and advice. Disabled people, families, whanau, aiga, caregivers, providers and the general public can use our DIAS service. Our service is FREE to you.
We are happy to assist and answer any of your questions. Our aim is to provide information that is relevant and useful to you. We welcome the opportunity to visit your organisation or community group and present on disability information and/or services provided by NorthAble.

Support for living through Needs Assessment Service Co-ordination (NASC); and a Very High Needs service (VHN) – both Northland-wide; vocational and community participation through the LYNKZ programme (Whangarei and Dargaville).
Conference room hire. Northable can offer an air conditioned conference room suitable for meetings and presentations for up to 40 depending on the conference set up. There is an additional smaller room that can be used for 6 to 8 people, seated around a table only. The building is accessible and the room has use of an accessible toilet. It is available to be booked during the day from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. After hours by arrangement. The venue is at NorthAble, 40 John St, Whangarei.
