FAQ- How do these asbestos regulations apply to you?
If you undertake work or manage a workplace which was built before the year 2000, there is a high probability that the property may contain asbestos or ACM. Under the new legislation, you are required to undertake measures to identify and address this risk. This may include having a management survey and an asbestos management plan. If refurbishment or demolition works are scheduled then an R&D survey is required prior to the works starting.

Asbestos Sampling
Asbestos samples must be testing through an ISO17025 accredited laboratory.

Asbestos Contract Engagement
Ensure you know if your asbestos removal contractors have the right qualifications for the job. If they are doing the job incorrectly or are not correctly qualified you could be liable.
